“I should be getting more goals”- Antoine Semenyo aims better numbers

The Ghanaian striker has equaled his best scoring season (8) in a Premier League campaign. He is now behind Andre Ayew (21 goals), Jeffery Schlupp (22 goals), Tony Yeboah (24 goals), and Jordan Ayew (41 goals) in the pecking order.

Antoine Semenyo has expressed frustration about not achieving better game results, saying he should have performed better and scored more goals and assists.

The Ghanaian striker scored inside the first minute as he ended his eight-game goal drought in Bournemouth’s 1-0 victory over Fulham on Monday (14 April) in the Premier League, a result that reignites their hopes of European football next season.

The goal also meant Semenyo equaled his best scoring season (8) in a Premier League campaign. He is now behind Andre Ayew (21 goals), Jeffery Schlupp (22 goals), Tony Yeboah (24 goals), and Jordan Ayew (41 goals) in the pecking order.

Semenyo acknowledged his efforts in training and the manager’s support in improving their game. He is optimistic about the potential to improve in the remaining games.

“I feel like I should be getting more.”- he told Sky Sports. “I feel like I’ve had numerous opportunities in games where I should have smashed it, I should have just placed it and missed a couple of chances. And I know for myself, with the quality I have, I should be getting better numbers.”

So that’s something I’m working on, working on my game every week in training, the manager keeps banging on, helping me with little things, little clips, watching over so I’m working on that, and hopefully, with these next six, five games to go, hopefully, I can get some numbers. I’ll get a couple more goals and a couple more assists.
