GHOne TV’s Serwaa Amihere has revealed she lost an endorsement deal after interviewing two feuding showbiz icons, Strongman and Medikal.

Netizens went hard on the screen personality for demanding an apology from Strongman, who used unprintable words in one of his beef songs against Medical’s then girlfriend and now wife, Fella Makafui.

“There have been about two instances, but the one that hit me hard was an interview I did with Strongman and Medikal. They were throwing jabs at each other and I was on the Midday News and I had interviewed both of them.

“And I had the same questions for both of them but one’s line dropped so I was left with just one person, who was Strongman and I asked him if he was going to apologize for the comments in his song about Medikal’s relationship and then he said he won’t apologize,” Amihere recalled in an interview with Naa Ashorkor on Asaase Radio’s Between Hours.

“But the backlash was so much. People wrote articles for me to be taken off television. I was about to sign an endorsement deal, I lost it. I went in there to that company and I explained what happened that it wasn’t as though I was trying to denigrate anyone, any of the people I tried to interview,” she added.

Interview with Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Amihere also disclosed that the recent interview she had with Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister for Information, also came with its own backlash and nearly ended her career. But for the attacks on her personality, she said she was unfazed about the trolling.

“The second one, my Kojo Oppong Nkrumah interview and you know that, I think a lot of people didn’t watch the full interview which was okay but what got to me was how people try to count to my looks, you know. I felt like even if it was an issue, it was a flop whatever it was, talk about my work and don’t talk about how I look that equates to what happened in the interview.”

Cyber Bullying

The GHOne TV news anchor also stated that she is no longer perturbed about cyberbullying, especially on social media. However, she said she would not entertain insults on her social media pages.

“I think that I’ve always been opinionated. I share my opinions and views on political stuff and people don’t agree with me and I expect them to come at me with facts and not insults. So, if you come at me and you don’t have anything and you want to insult me, I will find a way to put you in your place,” she served notice.

Between Hours airs Mondays to Thursdays with Naa Ashorkor from 2pm to 3pm.
