Political strategist: Political parties risk losing elections if…

His comments comes after Bryan Acheampong warned that if the NDC tries to do anything “foolish” in the next general election, the NPP will show them that they have the men

Dr Bernard Tutu-Boahen, a political marketing strategist has warned that political parties in the country risk losing elections if they fail to invest in communication.

His comments comes after Bryan Acheampong warned that if the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) tries to do anything “foolish” in the next general election, the NPP will show them that they have the men.

“We will show NDC that we have the men if they want to do intimidate, harass us or do anything foolish during the 2024 elections.”

“It will not happen that we will hand over power to NDC. We’ll use any means for NPP to stay in power,” Acheampong said while addressing NPP supporters after a health walk in Kwahu over the weekend.

Reacting to the development on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Tuesday (11 April), Tutu-Boahen said failing to invest in communication could also greatly affect the brands of political parties.

“I think that it’s very important that our politicians get to understand that we can only give them the mandate, and one of the things that we can use to give them the mandate is their communication.”

“So, If they don’t really appreciate the essence of communication, it will be better to deplore communication experts who probably would want to coach them to mount any political platform.”

“And to me, I feel that it is very essential because damages in your communication can affect your brand. It can affect your chances and it will probably be a cause for you to lose an election. So I think that they need to take their communication very seriously and work on it,” Tutu-Boahen said.
