1D1F has created 170,000 jobs says Bawumia’s campaign team

Dennis Miracles Aboagye stated that the 1D1F programme has seen the creation of almost 170,000 jobs directly and indirectly

The flagship One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration has created 169,870 direct and indirect jobs since its implementation in 2017, according to the spokesperson of the Dr Mahamudu Bawumia campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye.

During the 30 June 2024 edition of “The Next Chapter Series” Dennis Miracles Aboagye stated that the 1D1F programme has seen the creation of almost 170,000 jobs directly and indirectly, thereby reducing the unemployment rate in the country.

“This government’s 1D1F initiative since its commencement has created 25,318 direct jobs. The indirect jobs created mount to 144,552 and they combine to give us 169,870, between 2017 and 2024’’ he stated.

In what he described as the scoreboard between the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), the director of communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team said that the NDC’s performance in industrialisation has been abysmal as compared to that of the NPP.

“Between 2009 and 2016, the NDC could only manage to put up 5 factories. They completed these 5 factories. These 5 factories could only create 558 direct and indirect jobs. This is a complete failure on the part of the then NDC government’’ he said.

The NPP, since 2017, has been able to commence 321 factories though not all of them have been completed.

“The Nana Addo/Bawumia administration, between 2017 and 2024, has completed 169 factories under the 1D1F scheme. 152 more factories are under construction and will soon come onstream. In total, 321 factories were started and the jobs created amounted to 169,870’’ Dennis Miracles Aboagye postulated.

He mentioned that the NDC’s 5 factories created 220 direct employees whereas 338 people were those employed indirectly. He, therefore, called on Ghanaians to retain the NPP in power to continue with the industrialization drive it has begun.

“This is one of the justifications for Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to continue with this massive industrialization program to produce more for the local market and export some for foreign exchange.

“We can also employ additional hands with the expansion of the 1D1F program. If the NDC comes to power, these factories under construction would be stalled whereas those fully operational would be allowed to collapse” Miracles Aboagye emphasized.
