At least seven persons including a two-year-old girl have died from electrocution at Amanfrom near Hwidiem in the Asutifi South District of the Ahafo Region.
Four others were also injured in the incident which happened last Friday 14 May following a heavy rainstorm in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, a live wire from the roofing of the structure they were seeking shelter got in contact with the water leading to their death.
In an interview with Asaase News, the spokesperson of the Ahafo Regional Police Command, ASP Isaac Kwame Loh, confirmed the news, adding the deceased include two women and four children.
The four who got injured are being treated at the St Elizabeth Hospital at Hwidiem.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the same hospital awaiting autopsy.
