Mustapha Ussif calls for support for Black Stars

The Black Stars will need the support of Ghanaians if they are to stand a chance of doing well at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, according to Hon Mustapha Ussif

Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif is calling on Ghanaians to support the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar which kicks off this month.

Ghana has qualified ahead of West African rivals Nigeria and will be making a fourth appearance at the tournament.

The last time the team participated at the Mundial was in Brazil in 2014 when issues with bonuses ravaged the team’s campaign.

This time, the team is hoping to have the best of campaigns and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif who will be leading the delegation to the tournament says they have designed a strategy to get the team to do well but massive support from the people of Ghana will be important to whatever they have planned.

Black Stars have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.

Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.

The team will open camp on November 10 in Abu Dhabi. Otto Addo, who is the head coach of the side, will name his final 26-man squad on November 14.

Black Stars will play Switzerland in an international friendly on November 17, before traveling to Qatar for the World Cup on November 19.
