Creation of Zongo and inner-city development secretariat is a novelty, says coordinator

Banda believes the initiative is a testament and a clear demonstration of governments commitment to bring development to people in deprived communities

The coordinator of the Zongo and Inner-Cities Development Secretariat (ZICDS), Ben Abdallah Banda has said the establishment of the secretariat is novelty in Ghana’s history.

Banda believes the initiative is a testament and a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to bring development to people in deprived communities.

“For the government to have taken such a step, it means that, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has been very visionary, progressive and dynamic because Zongo has been in existence even before independence,” Banda said  on TownHall Talk on Asaase 99.5 on Friday (6 April).

“And no government has taken it upon itself to create such an institution to spearhead developmental agenda of people living in Zongo,” he told host Caleb Ahinakwah.
