Tema General Hospital receives donation from Arla Foods

Arla, one of Ghana’s leading milk brands and makers of Dano milk, has donated to frontline health staff at the Tema General Hospital.

Arla Foods, one of the country’s leading milk brands and makers of Dano milk, has made a donation to frontline health staff at Tema General Hospital.

This is in line with its corporate social responsibility in the fight against the coronavirus disease.
The items, worth thousands of Ghana cedis, were handed to the medical director of Tema General Hospital, Richard Anthony.

The occasion also coincided with the celebration of World Milk Day, set aside to highlight the importance of milk in our diet and how essential it is to have this high-rotein element in our food.

The chief executive officer of Arla Foods Ghana, Fatu Mata, said the donation was a gesture to celebrate frontline health workers who have exhibited selflessness in the fight against COVID-19.

“All across the world, frontline health workers are laying down their lives to battle this novel virus which has crippled economies, with many people unable to do what they do best.”

The donation of Dano milk, Fatu Mata said, will help boost the frontline health workers’ immune system.

“This is why we at Arla Foods have thought it wise to celebrate health workers and their immense contribution,” she said.

Long-term companion

Receiving the items, Dr Richard Anthony expressed profound gratitude to Arla Foods for the donation.

He highlighted the need for Ghanaians to observe all the safety protocols, as the virus may be with us for a long time.

Dr Anthony commended the efforts of other individuals and organisations which are helping in diverse ways to curtail the spread of the virus and protect fellow citizens.
