President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has ushered Ghanaians into the New Year 2021 by wishing them “blessings and growth.”
In a Facebook post, Nana Akufo-Addo hoped for a “new era” of blessings for everyone “you hold dear by the Grace of the Almighty.”
As he looks forward to a successful inauguration on 7 January 2021 to begin his second term, having beaten his main rival John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December elections, the president-elect said: “May 2021 bring you joy.”
“I wish you all a Happy, Prosperous New Year! May 2021 bring you joy, and usher in a new era of blessing and growth for you and for everyone you hold dear by the Grace of the Almighty,” the governing New Patriotic Party’s candidate in the just ended election posted.
A year filled with blessings
Vice-president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has also wished for a year filled with “blessings for our beloved homeland Ghana.”
On his part, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, retweeted Akufo-Addo’s post on microblogging site, Twitter.

The year 2021 is crucial after the COVID-19 pandemic damaged virtually every economy worldwide. It comes with an opportunity for President Akufo-Addo after his victory, to kick-start the economy that has been tipped to recover faster than originally predicted.
