Gyankroma Akufo-Addo has denied claims that he received $25 million to paint interchanges in Accra, calling the allegations “entirely absurd and false” and warning of legal action against those spreading the reports.
In a statement released on Friday, Akufo-Addo said no such contract was ever offered, awarded, or existed, challenging anyone in possession of evidence to produce it publicly.
“The Art for All projects were privately conceived and executed through the Creative Arts Agency, funded through a combination of private sector support and personal contributions,” she said, emphasizing that these facts had been publicly stated before.
Akufo-Addo described the circulation of the claim, particularly on social media, as a “calculated attempt to mislead the public and damage my reputation.”
She said he had instructed his lawyers to take immediate legal action against individuals, media outlets, and platforms responsible for publishing and amplifying the alleged falsehoods.
Her statement comes amid a surge of online posts linking him to the $25 million claim, which has drawn criticism and attention across Ghanaian social media.
