GTA Awards: CASA Ashanti named best food and entertainment brand in Ashanti Region

CASA Ashanti Ltd. has been named the best food, beverage and entertainment company in the Ashanti Region at the 2025 Ghana National Tourism Awards, marking another significant milestone for one of Ghana’s most admired hospitality brands.

The award, received at a colourful ceremony in Accra on 14 November, celebrates the restaurant’s outstanding contribution to the transformation of the region’s dining and entertainment culture.

The event, themed “Celebrating Ghanaian Ingenuity and Excellence in Tourism: The Black Star Experience”, brought together leading figures in government, business and the tourism industry. In attendance were the Chief of Staff, Hon Julius Debrah, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, prominent business executives and several dignitaries.

CASA Ashanti, owned by Mr. Albert Owusu Amoako and Mrs. Thelma Owusu Amoako, is widely regarded as the pioneer of fine dining in the Ashanti Region. CASA introduced a new standard of culinary excellence, ambience and service delivery at a time when the fine dining experience was largely absent in the region.

Its success has inspired a new wave of restaurants and hospitality ventures that now look to CASA as the model for modern dining in Kumasi.

In presenting the award and an honor recognition to Mr. and Mrs. Amoako, the Ghana Tourism Authority proclaimed, “Your journey not only reflects business excellence, but a soulful devotion to preserving and elevating local cuisine, the Ghana Tourism Authority proudly honors you for your passionate commitment to Ghanaian food tourism.” This was met with an uproar and a cheer from the business moguls at the event, recognizing the couple role in the tourism sector.

The entrepreneurial couple behind CASA have continued to expand their presence in the hospitality industry with the establishment of Luuma, Cedar and Olives. These restaurants have become popular choices for corporate gatherings, social events and executive relaxation, further cementing their influence on the region’s lifestyle and entertainment landscape.

Over the years, CASA Ashanti and its owners have earned recognition at various industry platforms for consistent service excellence, innovative dining concepts and leadership within the hospitality space.

This year’s recognition follows CASA’s win at the 2024 National Tourism Awards, where the restaurant was named Best Restaurant in Kumasi, Category A. The back-to-back honours place CASA among the consistently performing hospitality brands acknowledged by the Ghana Tourism Authority, reinforcing CASA Ashanti’s position as a leading force in Ghana’s tourism and hospitality sector.

The recognition also reflects the broader impact of the Amoakos, whose vision continues to elevate the standard of dining and entertainment in the Ashanti Region and beyond.
