GPL: Aduana beat Hearts of Oak to stay top, Bechem thrash Karela

Aduana FC returned to winning ways beating Hearts of Oak Oak one nil in Dormaa to stay top of the Ghana Premier League table on Sunday.

 Bright Adjei scored a free kick in the 70th minute to give the leaders their first win in three games.  Aduana lead the table (24) on two-goal difference ahead of Nsoatreman FC who won 2-1 at Bibiani Gold stars,

“We beat Hearts of Oak home and away last season and we were determined to them again because we had lost 3 games and that was not good for Aduana FC”- Bright Adjei said after the game.

 Hearts of oak interim coach Abdulai Rashidu said “Gideon Asante had a good opportunity to score but he did not, we had another brilliant chance getting to the end of the game but the player was not able to score.”

“Albert Dieudonne Eonde too came in and the same but at the end of the day the blames will go to the coach which is difficult but that is the nature of our job so we need to take it in good faith.”

Elsewhere, Augustine Okrah scored a brace as Bechem United thrashed Karela United 4-0 in Tamale. 

Emmanuel Avornyor, and Emmanuel Annor scored the other beautiful goals to give Bechem United yet another win on the road.

After the interval, Augustine Okrah scored two quick fire goals in the 54th and 60th minutes before Emmanuel Annor wrapped things up in added time.

Elsewhere at Sogakope, Brazilian import, Joe Silva de Santana scored a priceless goal in the 73rd minute for Nations FC in a 1-0 win over Accra Lions.

FC Samartex continued their impressive performance with a 2-0 win over Bofoakwa Tano at the Abrankese.

Evans Osei Wusu scored from the spot to open the scoring inside 45 minutes before Michael Ephson added the winner in the 89th minute.
