Government pays GHC485 million as COLA to workers

The government has released the total sum of GHC485 million to pay for the monthly 15% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) to workers, the Controller announced on Monday.

The amount, according to the statement from the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD), takes care of the July and August 2022 arrears.

 

The government and organised labour agreed for the allowance to be paid at a rate of 15% of base pay and to take effect from 1 July  2022.

The negotiations between the government side and organised labour concluded on Thursday 14 July 2022.
