A final year male student of Oppong Memorial Senior High School at Kokofu near Bekwai in the Ashanti Region has been stabbed to death.
Richard Kofi Appiah, 21, was stabbed in a scuffle with unknown assailants Saturday night, according to eyewitnesses.
He died at the Bekwai Government Hospital where he was rushed for medical attention, the family confirmed to Asaase News.
The family is demanding for immediate arrest of persons involved in the crime as residents of Adwumam in the Bosomtwe District visit the family house to mourn with the bereaved.
The mother of the deceased, Florence Adomah, said she wants the culprits to be punished.
“The police should help identify and arrest the culprits who killed my son. I want to see them being prosecuted for this crime,” Adomah said.
The police say they are on a manhunt for the killers.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Bekwai, Kwaku Kyei Baffour, described the incident as disturbing.
