Six things you (probably) didn’t know about Naa Ashorkor

If you’re a fan of the beautiful, young, and talented 34-year-old media personality, you’ll love these six interesting facts about her career and life

Who is Nisirine Ashorkor Mensah-Doku? What sports did she rank 1,000th? If you think you know Naa Ashorkor – the radio and TV personality – very well, then think again because we have rounded up the ultimate collection of her facts.

1. 1000th in CrossFit game

The celebrated actress is known for her athleticism and willingness to take on new challenges.

We bet, little did you know that she tried CrossFit in 2020 and ranked the 1000th position. “I tried out for the 2020 CrossFit World Open Games, and I was ranked 1,000 something something…” she told Asaase 99.5 Accra’s Winifred Lartey recently.

2. An introvert

It may seem counterintuitive, but many famous actors and larger-than-life personalities are actually very shy, and Naa Ashorkor is no exception.

The actress owned up to her shyness in an interview saying, “a lot of people may not know this but I’m actually very shy.”

3. Miss Malaika reject

According to the gorgeous and eloquent Naa Ashorkor, she auditioned for Miss Malaika in 2008 and was told she didn’t have “what it takes.”

The following year, she made huge waves in her career and was paid to host the show.

4. Usher at national theater for three years

Naa Ashorkor once worked at the famous national theatre in Ghana’s capital, Accra as an usher for three good years. She used the little she earned to support her parents while attending university.

 5. Big on student politics

Before journalism and acting, Naa Ashorkor loved and heavily participated in student politics during her days in secondary school. But the actress didn’t believe she was not cut out for a political career after school.

6. Rejected offer to play the monologue “5 Hours with Mario”

Naa Ashorkor rejected the role of Dzidzor in “5 Hours with Mario” because she thought she wasn’t ready to star in a monologue play.

One of the finest and best-known Spanish novels, 5 Hours With Mario was transformed by her into a profoundly moving and fluid work that touches on humour and loss. The manner with which she succeeds in sustaining the audience was indeed remarkable.

Naa Ashorkor is an inspiring, beautiful, and extremely talented actress who entertained patrons with an adaptation of the popular Spanish novel on countless stages.

It’s difficult not to be crazy in love with Naa Ashorkor, one of the iconic media personalities, actress and MC in the country. We look forward to seeing what’s in store for the future; whatever it is, we expect it to be incredible.
