GOLDBOD suspends the operating licence of Evanex Gold Enterprise

The Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD) has withdrawn the licence of Evanex Gold Enterprise, halting the operations of the tier 2 gold-buying firm with immediate effect.

The action, announced in a compliance notice dated 28 August 2025 and signed by GOLDBOD’s chief executive officer, Samuel Gyamfi, follows investigations which revealed that the company had engaged in irregular pricing of gold — a direct breach of its licensing obligations.

GOLDBOD has instructed miners, traders and the general public to discontinue all transactions with Evanex Gold Enterprise.

According to the board, the Evanex suspension is part of broader efforts to protect the integrity of Ghana’s gold market, enforce accountability and ensure fairness in the trading system.

GOLDBOD reiterated its commitment to strict regulation of the sector, noting that compliance is key to maintaining transparency and credibility in the gold industry.
