GIISDEC pays courtesy visit to MIIF to deepen strategic partnership
The official visit forms part of GIISDEC’s ongoing engagements with key institutions under Ghana’s industrialisation agenda

As part of efforts to strengthen stakeholder engagement and foster strategic collaborations, the new management of the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC) has paid a courtesy call on the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF).
The official visit forms part of GIISDEC’s ongoing engagements with key institutions under Ghana’s industrialisation agenda.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Philip Oppong Amponsah, alongside Abdulai Batiah Santi who were received by the Chief Executive Officer of MIIF, Justina Nelson, and her executive team.
Discussions centred on introducing the new GIISDEC leadership, sharing the Corporation’s strategic direction, and exploring potential areas of collaboration to bolster national development.
Speaking during the visit, Oppong Amponsah underscored the strategic importance of GIISDEC’s role in Ghana’s economic transformation.
He noted that the Corporation remains committed to partnerships that enhance investment attractiveness and contribute to the government’s broader industrialisation goals.
Also present was the Director of Finance and Accounting at GIISDEC, Prince Ofosu Baakoh, who elaborated on the Corporation’s collaborative approach.
He highlighted the importance of synergy between GIISDEC and MIIF to drive shared objectives in the iron and steel sector.
On her part, MIIF CEO Justina Nelson expressed her outfit’s readiness to partner with GIISDEC once mutually beneficial terms are finalised.
She commended the leadership for their proactive engagement and reiterated MIIF’s commitment to supporting national strategic investments.
“This visit marks the beginning of what we hope will be a strong and impactful partnership,” the two institutions said in a joint statement.
The engagement forms part of GIISDEC’s broader vision of positioning Ghana as a competitive player in the global iron and steel industry.
