Give attention to artistes outside Accra, says Skrewfaze
According to the ‘Gbalagazaa’ hit maker, most airplays and series of interviews are centered on Accra-based musicians. A situation he describes as unfair
Ghanaian musician Skrewfaze has expressed his displeasure at the lack of support provided to artistes from other regions in Ghana, such as the Northern Region.
Speaking on Asaase Café, Skrewfaze said there is the need for industry players to ensure equality in projecting the works of Ghanaian musicians.
“One thing I have noticed and I am quite sure you are going to agree with me, Ghanaians love controversial stuffs,” he told the show host, Caroline Sampson. “But the most important things we don’t pursue.”
According to him, over 70% of things promoted by Ghanaians are unnecessary.
“An example is these look-alikes, they are supposed to be dead news by now and focus more on artistes like Okyeame Kwame, Wiyaala and the rest. Go to the North they are doing so well like Fancy Gadam. They are performing at packed stadium but everything is centered here in Accra,” Skrewfaze said.
