Ghanaians in the UK hail Akufo-Addo
The Ghanaians eulogised Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his administration and urged him to do more in transforming the country
A cross section of Ghanaians in the United Kingdom (UK) took to the streets of London on Friday (30 July) in a show of support for the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his government.
Calling themselves the Patriotic Ghanaians Citizens in the UK, the Ghanaians carried placards and banners with inscriptions such as: “Let’s Fix it Together”, “Let us fix our own attitude”, “Thank you for Free SHS”, “NABCO is a game changer” among others.
They eulogised the president and his administration and urged him to do more in transforming the country.
The group also praised the president for rolling out interventions such as the Ghana CARES “Obaatanpa” programme during the COVID-19 pandemic to cushion the plight of Ghanaians.
Presenting a petition to the Ghana High Commissioner to the UK, the group leader, Amanda Baffour-Awuah disclosed that Ghanaians in the diaspora genuinely appreciate the work of Akufo-Addo.
She said with the needed support and constructive criticism, programmes such as the Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, 1 Village 1 Dam, 1 District 1 Factory, among others, would go a long way to facilitate the development of Ghana.
The current administration, they believe, has done so well to reduce the burden on Ghanaians in the UK and the entire Diaspora.
Mrs Freda Bediako-Puni, head of Commonwealth and Diaspora Affairs who received the petition on behalf of the High Commissioner, thanked the group.
