Ghana showcases tourism and investment opportunities at ITB Berlin 2026

Ghana has taken a prominent position at the global travel trade fair ITB Berlin 2026, with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) leading the country’s delegation and presenting cultural and investment opportunities to international audiences.

The event, hosted in Germany, opened on 3 March 2026 and runs until 5 March, with Thursday designated as “Ghana Day” — a special programme aimed at showcasing the country’s languages, cuisine, heritage and business potential to the global tourism community.

Ghana’s pavilion attracted early interest from visitors and industry players, featuring exhibitions of traditional arts and crafts, live demonstrations of local languages and displays of the iconic Kente cloth, widely regarded as a symbol of Ghanaian cultural identity.

Multimedia presentations also highlighted tourism destinations, festivals and investment prospects across hospitality, ecotourism and creative industries.

Seven private sector exhibitors are participating alongside government representatives as part of a coordinated effort to deepen international partnerships and attract investment into Ghana’s tourism value chain.

The ITB Berlin provides a strategic platform to engage tour operators, destination marketers and investors, and to strengthen Ghana’s visibility within the global travel industry.

Earlier engagements at the fair included a meeting with young Ghanaian professionals and potential investors based in Germany. The session, organised in collaboration with the Ghana Embassy in Germany and V Afrika-Verein, focused on investment opportunities in Ghana’s tourism sector.

The delegation, led by Deputy Chief Executive Officer (General Services) Mr. Ben Annane Nsiah, discussed emerging business prospects and addressed questions from participants about infrastructure, customer service standards and regulatory processes.

Ambassador Prof. Ohene Adjei also participated in the discussions, reinforcing efforts to strengthen diaspora investment linkages and foster economic collaboration.

Officials acknowledged concerns raised by participants regarding business documentation delays and service delivery challenges, assuring them that reforms are underway to improve the ease of doing business in Ghana.

The Ghana Day programme on 5 March will feature cultural performances, culinary showcases and business-to-business engagements designed to enhance investor confidence and forge strategic partnerships.

Authorities emphasised that Ghana’s participation at ITB Berlin aligns with national objectives to position the country as a gateway to Africa’s tourism and investment markets, leveraging its political stability and rich cultural heritage.

The delegation reiterated its commitment to expanding Ghana’s tourism footprint and building sustainable international partnerships that support economic growth.
