Ghanaian football fans are in for a treat as the country’s two most successful clubs, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak face off in the inaugural Democracy Cup.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the match on Wednesday (12 June), sanctioning the Parliament of Ghana‘s initiative to celebrate 30 years of parliamentary democracy.
The much-anticipated fixture will be played on Friday (5 July) at 6:00 PM GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
This historic match promises a thrilling atmosphere as both clubs boast passionate fanbases, creating a fierce rivalry that transcends the pitch.
The GFA commended the Parliament of Ghana for its commitment to strengthening democracy and fostering the beautiful game within the country.
“The GFA wishes to congratulate the Parliament of Ghana for entrenching our democracy and supporting football development in the country,” the statement read.
