The Ghana Highway Authority has announced a temporary lane reduction at the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange in Accra as part of ongoing works on the Accra–Tema Motorway and Extensions Project.
The adjustment, which affects the north–south bound carriageway between Madina and Accra and vice versa, will take effect from Sunday (22 June 2025). The number of lanes will be reduced from four to three in both directions.
According to the Authority, the traffic management arrangement is to facilitate central pier construction for the expansion of the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange Bridge. The lane reduction is expected to last for four months.
The intervention is necessary to provide safe working space for construction personnel and ensure the continued safety of all road users.
Motorists are being advised to exercise caution, follow directional signs and cooperate with traffic management officials throughout the period of the works.
The Ghana Highway Authority, acting on behalf of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, says it remains committed to minimising the impact on road users while ensuring the timely completion of the project.
