Collaboration plays a key role in music business, says KiDi

KiDi says when musicians work together it fosters growth of the industry and also opens more doors to other artists

Popular Ghanaian singer Dennis Nana Dwamena, known by showbiz name KiDi, has said that working with other musicians is an important aspect of the music industry.

Speaking on Asaase Café with Caroline Sampson, the former VGMA Artist of the Year said, it was crucial for musicians to work together and include other musicians on their tracks.

“Collaboration is what puts together different artists in different cultures,” KiDi said.

According to him, “If I’m trying to get my music and my brand to America, it is important to collaborate with an American artist.”

He added that collaborations with other artists are a leap of faith, adding that “some people don’t like collaborations, but I personally think collaboration is very important.”

KiDi added that he has done songs with artists who are not well-known because he has no problem with that as long as the song is good enough.

“Some people may also want to collaborate with you to tap into your fame, which is fine,” he added.
