Afua Asantewaa: I had an out of body experience during my singathon

The Ghanaian broadcast journalist Afua Asantewaa Aduonum who exceeded the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual has said she had an out of body experience during her singathon.
Aduonum on Sunday (24 December) began an attempt in Ghana to break the longest singing marathon (or singathon) completing her attempt to overturn the Guiness World Record on Friday (29 December) by singing for an unmatched 126 hours and 52 minutes.
Speaking to Benjamin Offei-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Tuesday (2 January), Aduonum said she experienced an attack during her attempt.
“The first four hours I did, I had 20 minutes rest. So when we started because the energy was there, we wanted to do the four-hours 20 minutes rest, so I think the second four-hour 20 minutes rest, I think I went to wash down, to change a bit,” she said.
“… According to my team I was not responding, I was totally off, so they were shedding tears and all that, it was very brief but intense.”
“I call those things attacks, that was the same period when I lost my voice and I personally had my own trance experience. So I could tell that it was some divine orchestration and some personal attacks going on. I had an out of body experience at a point,” Aduonum added.

Experience

The gospel trio Daughters of Glorious Jesus and the Rufftown Records artist Wendy Shay also graced the occasion.
The actor Clemento Suarez, the MP Sam George, the media personalities Bola Ray, Naa Ashorkor and Berla Mundi as well as a host of others passed through to cheer on Afua Aduonum.
