Nana Ekua Mansa, the queenmother of Kansaworodo traditional area, has expressed shock over a Fulani herdsman who allegedly inflicted multiple machete wounds on Josephine Kukuua Wallace, a food vendor at Kansaworodo in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.
The queenmother said this is the second time the suspect, Umaro, has been involved in the same crime in the Kansaworodo township.
Nana Mansa, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), expressed concern over the incident and wondered why some Fulani herdsmen brutalised indigenes.
She said Umaro, in the early hours of Sunday 14 May, allegedly inflicted multiple machete wounds on Wallace without any provocation. The victim was on her way to the lorry station.
The queenmother described the incident as barbaric and criminal. She said the continuous attack on innocent people by Fulani herdsmen poses a threat to the peace in the area.
She lauded the Western regional police command for arresting the suspect.
