From Kumasi to Germany: McDaniels Music declares “I am a winner” in new single

Gospel music fans have a new anthem to celebrate with “New McBanger (Winner)”, the latest release from Germany-based Ghanaian gospel sensation, McDaniels Kabobo, son of two of Ghana’s most iconic musical legends: Highlife veteran KK Kabobo and Gospel powerhouse Akua Serwaa Bonsu.

Born Daniel Osei Bonsu on June 6, 1995 in Accra and raised in Kumasi, McDaniels Kabobo is a multitalented artist whose journey through music began early. At just six years old, he was already gracing weddings with his powerful voice.

By age 13, he had become a Choir Director and Chorus Leader in both his local church and high school, capturing the attention of TV and radio platforms across the country.

In an exclusive interview with Asaase Radio, McDaniels opened up about the heart behind his new single:
“‘New McBanger (Winner)’ came straight from my heart and my walk with God. There were moments in my life I felt overwhelmed and questioned if I could really make it. But every time, God reminded me that through Him, I am already a winner.”

Now based in Germany, McDaniels has grown not only spiritually but also musically. With mastery in instruments like drums, keyboard, and bass guitar, he brings vibrant energy to the AfroGospel scene. He’s affectionately called “The Praise Giant” for his electrifying worship sessions across Europe and Ghana.

His musical journey has already blessed fans with releases such as, Afro Mashup, Eye Awurade, Glory feat Sammnart, Armor of God, and the 2021 fan-favorite Waye Awie feat Bettina Bonsu.

But “New McBanger (Winner)” is something different — it’s a bold declaration of faith, energy, and joy wrapped in a sound that blends Afrobeat with gospel.

“The AfroGospel vibe carries joy and energy because I wanted it to be more than just words; I wanted it to be a sound of praise, confidence, and celebration,” McDaniels told Asaase Radio.

The song isn’t just a tune — it’s a testimony.

“No matter what season you’re in, keep your head up and declare with me: ‘I am a Winner!’”

As McDaniels Kabobo continues to carve out his space in the global gospel music scene, he remains anchored in his mission — “to possess the youth with Christ.” Inspired by his parents, as well as gospel greats like Uche Agu, Joyous Celebration, Kirk Franklin, and Israel Houghton, McDaniels is a rising force to watch.

Ghanaians at home and abroad, get ready to raise your hands, move your feet, and declare your victory — because “New McBanger (Winner)” is more than a song. It’s a movement. 🔥
