From fitness influencer to entrepreneur: The inspiring journey of Samuel Akumanyi Nkrumah

Samuel Akumanyi Nkrumah, founder of Akumanyi Herbals, says his commitment to fitness and holistic health goes far beyond personal goals, it has become his life’s mission

A Ghanaian entrepreneur is redefining wellness through natural health solutions, after turning his own struggle into a growing movement.

Samuel Akumanyi Nkrumah, founder of Akumanyi Herbals, says his commitment to fitness and holistic health goes far beyond personal goals, it has become his life’s mission.

“Fitness isn’t just what I do, it’s who I am,” says Samuel, whose herbal wellness brand is gaining attention for promoting safe and natural weight gain. What began as a personal pursuit has evolved into a nationwide campaign to inspire confidence, discipline, and long-term wellbeing.

Samuel’s journey into fitness started several years ago, as he faced difficulties in achieving the physique he desired. Through a process of self-education and experimentation, he discovered the crucial roles of balanced nutrition, quality sleep, and a more holistic approach to health. “When you feel good on the inside, it reflects on the outside,” he stated.

Rather than promising quick fixes, Samuel emphasises the importance of consistency and accountability. “I meet people where they are, guiding them toward real change. It’s a journey, not a sprint,” he said.

After eight years of personal transformation, he built not only a healthier lifestyle but also a loyal community of wellness enthusiasts who share his philosophy.

In the process, he identified a gap in the market: the lack of natural, sustainable products to support healthy weight gain and muscle building. That insight led to the birth of Akumanyi Herbals.

After three years of development and testing, including approval by Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), the brand launched its flagship product – the Akumanyi Herbal Syrup.

“People deserve access to solutions that are safe, effective, and rooted in nature,” says Samuel. His brand now serves as a bridge between traditional herbal remedies and modern fitness, offering an alternative path to those looking for genuine, long-term health solutions.

For Samuel, Akumanyi Herbals is only the beginning. The entrepreneur says he is committed to crafting holistic solutions that meet people’s needs, helping them not just look stronger but feel stronger nside and out
