Free SHS ambassador Rahim Banda gets vehicle from Education Ministry

The actor and Free SHS ambassador Rahim Banda has been presented with a brand new pick-up vehicle

The Ghanaian actor and Free SHS ambassador Rahim Banda has received a brand new pick-up.

The vehicle, donated by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), was presented to him by the Ministry of Education.

Rahim Banda was made ambassador for the Free SHS project in 2018. The aim behind the ministry’s move is to ease transportation difficulties for the actor, who since assuming his ambassadorial role has resourced deprived schools with teaching and learning materials through his “Back to School” project.

The vehicle was handed over to Rahim on 16 June 2020.

“With every passing day and all the work I have done with the support of my team, it is gratifying enough to know that we have gained some recognition from the masses,” said the young actor after receiving the car.

“Problems with transportation of our materials to remote areas became an issue for the team.”

Motivational

He said the GETFund decided to present the car after he sought sponsorship from the Ministry of Education. The ministery settled on providing assistance in the form of a vehicle to transport educational materials to beneficiaries of his project.

“We have donated close to 200,000 books to schools within deprived areas and some schools in numerous zongo communities. We see this gesture as a motivation and an opportunity to do more,” Banda further said.

Rahim Banda is the second child of the award-winning movie and music producer Ahmed Banda.

He was born on 25 November 2000. He began acting at the age of nine. His father is also the chief executive of Bandex Films, and Rahim Banda mainly features in the movies he produces. Among these are Masters of the Game, Millions and Ali.
