As Asaase Broadcasting Company marks its fifth anniversary, General Manager Jimmy Kutin says the brand is ready to scale greater heights, with ambitious plans to deepen and expand digital operations and invest in people.
Kutin, who started his journey at Asaase as the Cape Coast Branch Manager, shared how the company’s growth reflects the transformative potential of its internal talent.
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (11 June) Kutin said, “All of a sudden I metamorphosed from a branch manager into the general manager,” he said, underscoring the company’s commitment to promoting from within.
Looking ahead, he revealed a bold five-year roadmap focused on expanding Asaase’s footprint across the African continent.
“You will see in the next five years that we’ll make greater inroads into the African market and space,” Jimmy stated, positioning the network as a credible voice of the continent.
Known for bold, truth-to-power journalism, Asaase intends to amplify its presence through more investigative and insightful stories. “Digital is not the future now; it’s now,” he emphasised, adding that the company will continue to grow its digital offerings to reach audiences anywhere, anytime.
Beyond expansion, Jimmy highlighted Asaase’s commitment to recognising its people and honouring its legacy. “Five years in radio tells you whether you’re in business or you should pack and go,” he noted. “Thankfully, the news is that we’re just about to spring into even greater heights.”
Jimmy also paid tribute to past staff and leadership, including former CEO George Andah and other pioneers, thanking them for their contributions. “To all staff, we say thank you so much for how far you have brought us,” he said.
As the company gears up for its anniversary celebration on 14 June—dubbed Asaase Day—Kutin affirmed that Asaase Broadcasting Company has only just begun: “We can only get better, and we can only get better with you being part of the journey.”
