President Akufo-Addo on Saturday (15 April 2023) paid his final respects to the former deputy minister of finance Anthony Akoto Osei at his burial service at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra.

Akoto Osei, who also served as the MP for Old Tafo between 2005 and 2021, died on 20 March 2023 at the University of Ghana Medical Centre in Accra.

His funeral was attended by a host of dignitaries, including the former presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Dramani Mahama, the Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, as well as the former trade minister Alan Kyerematen and leading parliamentarians.
