Gov’t releases GHS43.1 million for GIMPA, Teshie, other roads

The Finance Ministry has given approval for the release of more than GHS43 million to various contractors working on selected roads in Accra, Volta and Eastern regions.

A memo written to Controller and Accountant General by the Finance Ministry and signed by the Minister said the release of the funds will go a long way to further these road projects.

The roads in Accra captured by the memo include portions of the GIMPA roads as well as an 800 meter road stretch on the Teshie Rasta Area.

Per the Finance Ministry’s directive, more than GHS20 million is expected to be given Messrs Jungheung, the contractor undertaking phase 3 of the Kpando-Worawora-Dambai road.

The contractor working on the Kwafokrom-Apedwa section of the Accra-Kumasi Highway, Messrs China International Water and Electric Corporation, will also receive about GHS17 million out of the funds the Finance Ministry had directed.
