Ghana records 227 more cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths

The national tally of coronavirus cases is up to 8,297, Ghana Health Service announces on its COVID-19 website

Ghana has recorded 227 more cases of COVID-19, increasing the national tally to 8,297, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has reported on its COVID-19 website.

Two more people have died from the disease taking the death toll to 38. With 39 more people healed, the total number of recoveries has also risen to 2,986.

Greater Accra remains the epicentre of the disease in Ghana, with 5,798 cases, while the Ashanti has 1,263 cases.

The Western and Central Regions have the third and fourth highest numbers of cases, with 436 and 410, respectively. Eastern has 117, Volta 84, Western North 68, Northern 37, Oti 26, the Upper East 26 and the Upper West 22.

Bono East has six, North-East two, and Savannah and Bono have one case each.

Ahafo is now the only region so far without any recorded case of COVID-19.
