EOCO retrieves 37 vehicles from car stealing syndicate
According to EOCO, 10 persons have so far been arrested in connection with the operation conducted in collaboration with the FBI
The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has carried out an intelligence-led operation for the retrieval of various luxury vehicles suspected to have been stolen from the US and Canada.
According to EOCO, 10 persons have so far been arrested in connection with the operation.
A statement issued by EOCO on Tuesday (13 December) said 37 of such vehicles have been retrieved in some garages in Accra.
“On Friday 9 December 2022 37 of such vehicles were retrieved from some garages in Accra during which 10 persons were arrested. The suspects have since been questioned and granted enquiry bail.
“Meanwhile, prospective car buyers are hereby advised to conduct due diligence prior to the purchase of vehicles,” the EOCO statement said.
