Engineer Francis Addai-Nimoh declares intention to contest NPP flagbearer race in 2028

Former presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Engineer Francis Addai-Nimoh, has officially announced his intention to contest the party’s flagbearer position for the 2028 general elections.

This marks his third attempt at securing the NPP’s leadership slot, reaffirming his enduring commitment to the party and its future.

Engineer Addai-Nimoh first contested for the NPP flagbearership in 2014, where he placed third out of seven candidates. He returned to the race in 2023 ahead of the 2024 elections and finished fourth among ten aspirants.

Speaking in an interview with Asaase News, Addai-Nimoh called on the Ghanaian media to help communicate his vision and aspirations to party delegates. He urged delegates to entrust him with the mandate to lead the NPP into the 2028 presidential election, promising a strong and unifying leadership.

“I believe I have the experience, vision, and integrity to lead our party to victory in 2028. I humbly ask the delegates to give me that opportunity,” he appealed.

Born on March 23, 1965, Francis Kwabena Addai-Nimoh hails from Mampong-Nyampong in the Ashanti Region. A devout Christian, he is married and a father of three.

Addai-Nimoh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), earned in 1993. Following his studies, he worked with various engineering firms, amassing experience in data collection, road design, contract specification, construction supervision, bitumen production, and technical training to enhance construction standards.

As the race for the NPP’s 2028 presidential candidate begins to take shape, Engineer Addai-Nimoh’s declaration adds a familiar and experienced voice to the contest.
