Eastern Region: I’ll be accountable to Ghanaians, says Bawumia

Bawumia also urged Muslims to pray during the month of Ramadan for a successful elections

Vice-President Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia has called on Ghanaians to vote for someone who will serve for eight years and be accountable to the people than someone who need only four year and will not be accountable.

He said this when he joined the Imams and the Muslim community in Suhum for the Iftar and Tafseer.

Present at the ceremony were the clergy and traditional rulers, who listened to the Imam’s sermon, and also enjoyed the evening meal (Iftar) together.

“John Mahaha has been president before and when voted he will do only four years but when I am voted I will have the opportunity to be president for eight years and will be accountable to the good people of our country,” Dr Bawumia said.

Bawumia also urged Muslims to pray during the month of Ramadan for a successful elections.

The parliamentary candidate of the NPP for Suhum, Frank Asiedu Bekoe said it is the first time a Muslim vice president had had Iftar with the people of Suhum and expressed his gratitude to Dr Bawumia.

He supported the call by Bawumia and also urged Ghanaians to choose and vote for the NPP in the December elections.
