Greenstreet chooses Bobobee as CPP running mate for Election 2020

Emmanuel Bobobee, an associate professor at KNUST, has been selected by the CPP to partner Greenstreet in the 7 December polls

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has selected Professor Emmanuel Yaovi Hunnour Bobobee to partner its flagbearer, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, in the 7 December general election.

Speaking at an event to outdoor his running mate, Greenstreet said Professor Bobobee exudes the qualities of an exemplary politician.

“And in him, seeing those qualities of service and a man of dignity, I said to myself: ‘Wow, let me try and see whether I can have pursued this man.’ Even though he has spent some years of his life serving another party, when he was serving in a national capacity I never heard one word of him showing any kind of arrogance as some of our ministers do,” Greenstreet said.

He said: “We have to restore our dignity as a nation because an individual without dignity is susceptible to abuse and corruption and we must restore that dignity.”

Greenstreet is confident that his running mate’s agricultural background will help transform Ghana’s agric sector if voted into power.

Flawless leader

The CPP flagbearer believes Professor Bobobee is a flawless leader who brings great value to the CPP ticket in the run-up to the December elections.

He said: “Never heard one word of any iota of corruption allegation, never heard one word of him being involved in any kind of activity which we are seeing so often today in our body politic.

“So I went to him, I knelt before him and I said, ‘Father, I am a young man. I need somebody who understands how government works, somebody who understands how to interrelate with other human beings, somebody with the capacity for hard work, somebody who understands the problem that the ordinary Ghanaian faces,’” Greenstreet said.

Answer to Ghana’s challenges

Addressing the media moments after being outdoored officially, the new CPP running mate said the party has what it takes to turn around Ghanas fortunes if given the mandate in December.

“The people there, when you talk to them on the ground, they are hungry for the rejuvenation of the Convention People’s Party, a party that has brought a lot of development.

“… Because when you are talking about development, you are talking about the Aveyime cannery factory, which is now with the Quality Grain project which has now become Prairie. And there were those industrial establishments during Nkrumah’s time, like Asutsuare sugar factory, Akosombo textile factory, Juapong Textiles company, which are supposed to create employment,” Bobobee said. Now we have unemployment.

He added: “So we have the solutions, we have the answers to all the challenges facing this country. And if the people of Ghana give us their mandate again they will see the revival of their fortunes.”
