Every Ghanaian will be safe during elections, says Bryan Acheampong

A Minister of State at the Interior Ministry, Bryan Acheampong, assures Ghanaians that the state security apparatus has put in place adequate preventive measures to ensure a peaceful election

A Minister of State at the Interior Ministry, Bryan Acheampong, has promised that the security agencies are poised to protect every Ghanaian on 7 December as the nation goes to the polls to elect a new president and MPs.

Acheampong gave this assurance when he addressed a rally at Anyinam in the Atiwa East Constituency in the Eastern Region as part of President Akufo-Addo‘s two-day tour of the Eastern Region.

“I stand here today to assure you that the Government of Ghana has the men to protect you [the Ghanaian People] during, before and after the 2020 elections, we have the men. No one should be scared to step out to vote,” Acheampong, who doubles as MP for Abetifi Constituency in the Eastern Region, declared.

“The days of intimidation in Ghana are over. This is a solemn promise I am making to all Ghanaians, we are well prepared for the election, the military is prepared, the Police are ready, the Immigration Service is ready, the Prisons Service is ready, all the security agencies are prepared to ensure the safety of every Ghanaian. To this end, don’t be afraid when you step out to vote,” the security capo further stated.

Appreciation

On his part, President Akufo-Addo thanked the people of Nkawkaw and Atiwa West constituencies for their unwavering support to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) since 1992. He called on the people of the Kwahu Traditional Area to stick with the NPP more strongly in the upcoming 7 December elections.

“Since we started voting in Ghana under the Fourth Republican constitution, Nkawkaw and the Kwaku State has stayed with the NPP and I am hear to say a big thank for your loyalty,” Akufo-Addo stated.

He added: “I wish to further submit to you that if my work over the last four years has been pleasing to you and I have not disappointed you, then I plead with you to vote massively for me to continue all the good works I have started.”
