Wontumi: John Boadu will help NPP to “break the 8”

Speaking at the launch of John Boadu’s campaign on Tuesday (31 May) in Accra, Wontumi said Boadu has the capacity to support the party’s vision to break the eight

The newly-elected Ashanti regional chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi wants delegates of the party to consider maintaining John Boadu as the national secretary.

Some national executives have already launched their campaigns including Stephen Asamoah Boateng who wants to become the chairman of the party.

Speaking at the launch of John Boadu’s campaign on Tuesday (31 May) in Accra, Wontumi said Boadu has the capacity to support the party’s vision to break the eight.

“The truth is that in the direction that we are heading, if we want someone to contribute to our success, John Boadu who is the general secretary, he can contribute more then the others,” Wontumi said.

I am winning – Boadu

Meanwhile, Boadu is optimistic of retaining his position to help the party win the 2024 election.

The Elephant family goes to the polls mid-July to elect national officers ahead of picking a presidential candidate.

Speaking to Asaase News before launching his campaign on Tuesday (31 May), Boadu said he has given a good account of himself for the two terms that he has been in office and has more to give the party.

“Such an experienced person who the party has invested in over years is best to keep the party together,” Boadu said.

According to him, his records show he is the best man for the job.
