Election defeat: Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu-led committee reports findings to Ashanti NPP executives
With the report now submitted, Chairman Wontumi assured that the findings would guide strategic corrections to rebuild the party’s strength.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi, has vowed to lead the party’s resurgence ahead of the 2028 general elections after receiving a report on the party’s 2024 defeat on Sunday (16 February).
In a Facebook post shortly after receiving the document Chairman Wontumi revealed that the Regional Executive Council had commissioned an investigative committee, led by former Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, to probe the causes of the party’s electoral loss.
This committee was formed even before the National Council established a similar body at the national level, underscoring the region’s commitment to diagnosing and addressing the party’s setbacks.
The committee engaged not only party executives but also market traders, religious groups, and community members to gain firsthand insights into voter concerns.
With the report now submitted, Chairman Wontumi assured that the findings would guide strategic corrections to rebuild the party’s strength.
