Ejura protest: Interior Minister extends deadline of committee’s work

 The three-member ministerial committee of inquiry into the shooting incidents in Ejura wrote to the interior minister to seek one more week to complete its work

Ambrose Dery, the Interior Minister, has extended the period of work of the three-member ministerial committee of inquiry in Ejura.

 In a letter addressed to the chairman of the three-member committee, the interior minister approved the extension of the working period from Friday 9 July 2021 to Friday 16 July 2021.

 Earlier, the three-member committee wrote to the minister wrote to the Interior Minister to seek one more week to complete its work in Ejura.

 The committee said it needs more time to take more testimonies which will help it unravel circumstances leading to the deaths of two protesters after clashes with security personnel.

 “Your request for the extension of the working period from Friday 9 July 2021 to Friday 16 July 2021 is hereby approved,” the letter from the minister stated.
