Dismissed workers will be prioritised for jobs under next NPP government – Bawumia assures

Addressing party supporters during a Thank You Tour stop in Takoradi on Saturday (26 April), Dr Bawumia acknowledged the economic hardship many Ghanaians are currently facing, particularly those who have recently lost their jobs

Former Vice President and 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged that dismissed workers will be given priority in employment opportunities should the NPP return to power.

Addressing party supporters during a Thank You Tour stop in Takoradi on Saturday (26 April), Dr Bawumia acknowledged the economic hardship many Ghanaians are currently facing, particularly those who have recently lost their jobs.

“I know how it feels to lose your job, your daily bread,” he said, assuring the crowd that the NPP would prioritise their needs. “We recognise the sacrifices you have made, and we are committed to restoring your livelihoods.”

Dr Bawumia outlined that a future NPP government would roll out targeted job creation initiatives aimed at supporting those most affected by recent economic challenges.

“I assure you that in the next NPP administration, you will be prioritised for jobs,” he promised, drawing applause from the gathered supporters.

The Thank You Tour forms part of the NPP’s strategy to re-energise its grassroots base and reconnect with the electorate following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.

Dr Bawumia reiterated the party’s commitment to revitalising the economy, supporting businesses, and providing sustainable employment opportunities for young people and displaced workers.

The NPP is seeking to rebuild momentum ahead of the December polls, with Dr Bawumia positioning himself as a candidate focused on economic recovery and job creation.
