Doja Cat to headline Move Afrika 2026 across Rwanda and South Africa

Move Afrika/

Global Citizen, the world’s largest movement to end extreme poverty, has announced that Grammy award-winning superstar Doja Cat will headline the third edition of Move Afrika, the pan-African music touring circuit designed to boost Africa’s creative economy.

The 2026 tour will expand across Africa, with Rwanda and South Africa serving as host countries, creating jobs and economic opportunities for local talent and communities.

The tour will begin with Move Afrika: Kigali at the BK Arena on 17 March 2026, before continuing with Move Afrika: Pretoria at the SunBet Arena on 20 March 2026.

Tickets for Kigali are available at moveafrika.org. Tickets for Pretoria can be purchased via Mastercard presale from 9:00 am on Monday, 16 February, until 8:59 am on Wednesday, 18 February, and are available with any Mastercard. World and World Elite Mastercard cardholders have preferred access to select tickets from 9:00 am on Wednesday, 18 February, at priceless.com/music.

The Big Concerts Fan Club presale runs from 9:00 am on Tuesday, 17 February, until 8:59 am on Wednesday, 18 February, and the general public sale begins at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 18 February, at ticketmaster.co.za.

Additional details, including opportunities to earn limited free tickets by taking action with Global Citizen, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Move Afrika 2026 continues the initiative’s long-term mission to establish the first pan-African touring circuit that drives investment and employment for the next generation of African creative professionals. Since its inception, the tour has created over 2,500 jobs in cities including Kigali and Lagos, with 90 percent of production roles filled by local talent and most equipment sourced locally.

Youth training initiatives have been strengthened in partnership with the Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator, providing hands-on experience in production, rigging, security, and hospitality.

In addition to music, Move Afrika campaigns alongside local partners to promote stronger health systems in Africa, including primary care, sexual and reproductive health, and healthcare financing.

The Music Economy Development Initiative (MEDI), launched last year, will release new research in collaboration with Global Citizen, Universal Music Group and IFC to drive music policy reform and highlight the sector’s role as a key driver of sustainable economic growth.

Move Afrika is supported by pgLang, Big Concerts, Major Tour Partner Cisco, and the Rwanda Development Board, with media partnerships including BellaNaija, EIB Network, Rolling Stone Africa, TIME Africa, TimesLIVE, and Vanguard Media.

Doja Cat said, “From my South African roots straight to the world stage, we’re bringing energy, purpose, and real change to Move Afrika in Kigali and Pretoria. This isn’t just a tour; it’s a movement that creates jobs and opportunities that last.

“I’m proud to be part of something that celebrates Africa’s creativity, invests in its future, and shows the world that Africa isn’t coming; it’s already here.”

Hugh Evans, co-founder and CEO of Global Citizen, added, “Move Afrika is redefining global touring by placing Africa’s creative excellence at the center of the international circuit, creating jobs, strengthening local industries, and driving long-term economic growth powered by culture.”
