Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC has organised a soccer clinic for children in partnership with Liverpool Football club at the Presbyterian Secondary School Astroturf, Legon.

The LFC soccer clinic teaches children the fundamentals of soccer and teamwork through instruction in a fun environment.

It is hinged on the bank’s sponsorship of Liverpool FC and provides local markets with a platform to actively engage clients, staff and stakeholders.

Participants of the soccer clinic were made up of children of stakeholders including employees and clients as well as girls from the Bank’s Goal programme. The LFC Soccer Clinic was run by coaches from LFC’s Soccer Schools.

Speaking to journalists during the programme, the head corporate affairs, brand and marketing, Asiedua Addae, said, “Since 2010, the partnership between Standard Chartered and Liverpool FC has generated great excitement around our brand and provides outstanding opportunities for our clients.”

“A significant part of this partnership is Standard Chartered’s commitment to reach out to low- income communities supporting young people to learn, earn and grow”.

“We were joined by girls from our community programme Goal who have benefited immensely from the life skills taught today” she added.

Engaging the media after the event, Liverpool Legend John Barnes said, “Sports especially soccer brings people of diverse backgrounds together and provides the opportunity to work together, develop friendships and builds discipline and focus. It was a pleasure to work with all the children.”

Whilst in Ghana, the team will engage with clients, stakeholders and staff of the bank.
