Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has cautioned voters in Afram Plains North against continuously voting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Addressing the chiefs, community members, Zongo chiefs, and party members, NAPO emphasized that voting for the NDC has historically delayed the development of Donkorkrom and the entire Afram Plains area.
He criticized the NDC for their lack of genuine commitment to developing the region, highlighting how the party neglects the needs of the area, despite consistently receiving massive support from the constituency in previous elections.
“Despite the overwhelming support the NDC has received from you over the years, they continue to neglect your needs. It’s time to change that narrative. The NPP, unlike the NDC, does not discriminate. We are a party for all, and we are committed to the development of every corner of this country, including Afram Plains.”
During his speech, Napo stressed that the NPP remains an all-inclusive party that prioritises the needs of every Ghanaian, unlike the NDC, which he accused of discriminating against Afram Plains. He urged the people to reconsider their voting patterns and support the NPP in the upcoming elections to ensure sustained development.
As part of the campaign tour, Dr Opoku Prempeh also commissioned the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) in Afram Plains North, showcasing the NPP’s commitment to infrastructure and economic growth. He encouraged voters to back Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, to maintain the developmental momentum in the region and across the country.
“By voting for Dr Bawumia, you are not just choosing a leader, you are choosing progress and transformation. The District Road Improvement Project is just one example of the many initiatives we are ready to bring to this area. Let’s work together to build a better future for Afram Plains. The introduction of the DRIP machines is a clear testament to the NPP’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure, and it shows Dr Bawumia’s dedication to improving the lives of Ghanaians.”
The Eastern regional chairman of the NPP, Jeffery Ohene Konadu, and the parliamentary candidate for Afram Plains North, Anim Asiamah, also spoke, appealing to the chiefs and residents to support the NPP this time. They both reiterated the party’s commitment to bringing much-needed development to the area and urged voters to give the NPP the opportunity to prove their capability.
“You have trusted the NDC for many years, but where has that gotten us? It’s time for change. Let’s give the NPP a chance to show what we can do for the people of Afram Plains. The NPP is ready to transform this area. We have plans for infrastructure, education, and jobs. Vote for the NPP, and let’s work together to develop Afram Plains North,” he said.
