Dawa Free Zone, GATAC partner to boost diaspora collaboration

GATAC/Dawa Free Zone/Diaspora

The Dawa Free Zone (DFZ), a subsidiary of LMI Holdings, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Ghana Africa Trade Advisory Chamber (GATAC) to strengthen collaboration and expand the chamber’s engagement with the African diaspora.

The agreement, sealed on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, focuses on connecting diaspora professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors with opportunities in Ghana’s growing industrial and business sectors.

Under the partnership, GATAC and Dawa Free Zone will work together to promote diaspora-driven investment and build platforms linking international partners to the industrial and commercial opportunities available within the zone.

The collaboration aims to position Ghana as an attractive destination for diaspora investment while facilitating knowledge exchange, strategic partnerships, and enterprise development.

The engagement involved the leadership of GATAC, led by its president, Dr Dominic Oduro Antwi; Chief Operating Officer Mark Barnor Adom; Office Manager Queenster Ocloo; and Senior Executive Member Alex Kofi Ankomah. Representing Dawa Free Zone were Acting Managing Director Kofi Ofori-Amanfo and Head of New Business Ekow Eyeson-Ghansah.

About GATAC

The Ghana Africa Trade Advisory Chamber (GATAC) is a non-profit organisation that promotes trade, investment, and strategic partnerships between Africa and the global business community.

The chamber brings together professionals and businesses from sectors such as mining, agriculture, logistics, finance, real estate, and technology. Through advisory services and investment facilitation, it strengthens Africa’s participation in global trade while building international partnerships.

About Dawa Free Zone

The Dawa Free Zone (DFZ) is a fully serviced industrial park located in the Ningo‑Prampram area of the Greater Accra Region. Spanning roughly 2,000 acres, the zone hosts light and heavy industries across sectors such as agro-processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, automotive manufacturing, logistics, and metal fabrication.

DFZ provides essential infrastructure, including reliable electricity, water, fiber-optic internet, internal road networks, and security to support efficient industrial operations.

Managed by Dawa Free Zone, under the umbrella of LMI Holdings, the park is part of Ghana’s broader industrialisation agenda, aimed at attracting investment, creating jobs, and supporting sustainable economic growth.

Through this partnership with GATAC, Dawa Free Zone is expected to strengthen links between Ghana’s industrial sector and the African diaspora while fostering investment, innovation, and long-term economic development.
