Dansoman: Old students donate to St Bernadette Soubirous School

The 2002 year group of the Dansoman-based school donated tables and chairs among many others to their alma mater

The 2002 year group of St Bernadette Soubirous School, Dansoman on Friday (9 December) handed a 3D signage, LED screen and 10 tables and swivel chairs to the school to mark the group’s 20th-year since completing basic education.

“It is a pleasure for us to come together as a group to support the school that nurtured us and we are extremely glad to do so,” the president of the group Nana Kwabena Adu Adjei said after the donation.

The spokesperson of the association, Kevin Elikem Kofigah, urged other year groups to come ‘home’ and support.

The headmistress, Ernestina Anna Britwum, expressed gratitude to the year group and admonished other year groups to emulate the good example.

“We are so grateful and honestly we wish that others will emulate this,” she noted.

“I have been here for the past 10 years and initially, we were not getting the alumni to come and support,” Britwum said. “The story has changed in recent times. The CCTV cameras you see and the refurbished washrooms for the kindergarten are projects embarked upon by old students.”

She prayed for God’s blessings and replenishment for the group for the kind gesture.
