Dampare: Indiscipline manifesting in Ghanaian cemeteries

The Inspector General of Police George Akuffo Dampare says Ghanaians must deepen their consciousness and practicality of self-consciousness to make policing easy

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare has bemoaned the level of indiscipline in the country, adding that it has now reached various cemeteries across the country.

Sharing some four key lessons at the induction of new pharmacists on Wednesday (16 February) in Accra, Dampare said policing can only be made easy if Ghanaians deepen their consciousness and exhibit self-discipline.

“…The fourth point that you can do to help is let’s start deepening our self-discipline nature, the indiscipline is so much, which has led to a situation of disorganisation, and unfortunately that disorganisation even we demonstrate it up to death and where we are kept after death,” he said.

“When you go to a typical Ghanaian cemetery, every bodies leg and head is looking in a different direction, that is the level of disorganisation, and you walk into a town or a village and the two things that met you either at the point of entry or exit is the KVIP and the other side will give you the alternative.

“We need to deepen our consciousness and practicality of self-discipline, when that comes maintaining law and order will become the easiest job for everyone to do,” Dampare added.
