Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo disappointed with failure to qualify for AWCON

Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has expressed disappointment following her side’s inability to progress to the next level of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana beat Nigeria 1-0 at the Accra  Sports Stadium on Sunday but that was not enough as the Super Falcons qualified 2-1 on aggregate.

Coach Mercy Tagoe who was hoping to lead the team to the next AWCON in Morocco and also a possible appearance at the World Cup was left dejected after the game.

“Unfortunately we could not qualify, so for now we have nothing else to do than to wait after three years,” said coach Mercy Tagoe

“We are going back to the drawing board to start preparing.

“This is a very young team and we are doing team building till the 3-years is up.”
