CLOGSAG begins indefinite strike

CLOGSAG is attributing its decision to the government's inability to meet the agreed-upon deadline of 31 August, 2022, for implementing the new salary structure and conditions of service

The Civil and Local Government Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has served notice it will declare an indefinite strike on Wednesday 3 July.

A statement issued by CLOGSAG said the decision is as a result of the government’s inability to meet the agreed deadline of 31 August 2022, for implementing the new salary structure and conditions of service.

“The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has declared a nationwide strike, effective tomorrow, Tuesday, 2 July 2024,” the statement said.

“This decision comes after the government’s failure to implement the new salary structure and other conditions of service, as agreed upon in the memorandum of understanding signed on 19 January, 2022.”

“The leadership of CLOGSAG held an emergency meeting at their headquarters in Accra, resolving to commence the strike action nationwide. The strike is a result of the government’s inability to meet the agreed-upon deadline of 31 August 2022, for implementing the new salary structure and conditions of service,” the CLOGSAG statement added.
