Black Satellites are ready for African Games opener against Congo, says head coach

Black Satellites captain Asamoah Kuffour promises Ghanaians the gold

Ghana’s national U-20 team, the Black Satellites, are gearing up for their opening match of the 13th African Games against Congo on Friday (8 March).

Head coach Desmond Ofei assures fans the team is “fully prepared” and “hungry to give their all for the nation.”

Kick-off is set for 3:00pm at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Algerian referee Loufti Bekouassa officiating. Rénovat Bizumuremyi (Burundi) and Youssef Jami (Tunisia) will serve as assistant referees, while Saddam Houssein Mansour (Djibouti) will act as the fourth official.

Ofei emphasises a game-by-game approach despite high expectations: “We are playing at home, so expectations are high,” he acknowledges. “We are ready to give our very best, and let’s see how the tournament goes, but game by game, we will be ready.”

Black Satellites captain Asamoah Kuffour raises the stakes, promising gold: “We are much grateful for this opportunity, and we are ready to deliver and bring out the best,” he declares. “We are ready, and we are fully prepared, and I’ll promise everyone that we will bring the trophy.”
